Lucknow: Former BJP MLA Vindhyavasini Kumar has tested positive for COVID-19 in Lucknow. He is currently battling severe kidney problems and is undergoing treatment at the Gandhi Ward of KGMU. Kumar was transferred to KGMU on Saturday after his condition worsened at Civil Hospital.
Just three days ago, on Monday, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak visited the former MLA, who is admitted in the ICU. Kumar's condition remains critical. In the past 24 hours, Lucknow has reported two new positive COVID-19 cases, including the former MLA and a one-year-old child who has been under treatment at KGMU since July 7.

Currently, Lucknow has 9 active COVID-19 cases, with 86 new cases reported this year. During his visit, Deputy CM Pathak also inspected the Gandhi Ward, where he noted a non-functional AC and unsanitary conditions, leading him to reprimand officials.
