30-year-old Rishi Kumar from Nagla Himachal village under Gangiri police station in Uttar Pradesh's Aligharh district was shot dead on the night of June 17. His body, wrapped in a cloth, was discovered the next morning near his uncle’s house, with a fatal gunshot wound behind the ear.
Rishi’s wife, Lalita, initially accused a villager of murder, claiming he had falsely blamed Rishi for stealing a mobile phone, leading to a heated argument. However, police investigations uncovered a far more sinister plot.

It was revealed that Lalita had been in a long-standing relationship with her brother in law Neeresh—Rishi’s own cousin—even before her marriage. Despite marrying Rishi, she continued the affair. Rishi had reportedly grown suspicious of their closeness.
Circle Officer Dhannanjay Singh stated that the ongoing probe strongly suggests Lalita and Neeresh conspired to eliminate Rishi. The murder was meticulously planned, with the duo allegedly executing the crime together.
Rishi’s last rites were performed on June 19 after the postmortem, but the case has left the village in shock. Police are now building a case against the accused, as the tragic tale of infidelity and murder unfolds.
