In a heartbreaking incident this Sunday afternoon, two real sisters drowned after accidentally falling into a drain while playing near their home in Tulsipur Harakka village under the Mohammedpur Khala police station area. The tragedy has cast a pall of grief over the village, with the family inconsolable.
The deceased have been identified as Kanchan and Saumya, daughters of Sunil Verma. According to police and villagers, the sisters wandered towards the drain while playing, slipped, and fell in. Their screams alerted family members and villagers, who rushed to the scene. Despite rescue efforts, both girls had stopped breathing by the time they were pulled out of the water.
Police were immediately informed, gathered details of the incident, and sent the bodies for post-mortem examination. The devastated parents and relatives are distraught, while villagers are offering their condolences and appealing to the government for financial assistance to the grieving family.
