UP Shocker! Woman Brutally Assaulted With Sticks By In-Laws In Deoria, Cries For Help; Police React After Video Goes Viral

Deoria: In a shocking incident, a woman was allegedly assaulted by her in-laws in Uttar Pradesh's Deoria. The incident was caught on camera. The video of the alleged assault surfaced online on Friday. In the video, the woman could be seen thrashed by two males and one female.

The men were beating up the woman with sticks. The victim was crying for help. The incident took place in Barai Patti village under the jurisdiction of the Tarkulwa police station.

The people who were beating the woman were reportedly her father-in-law, brother-in-law and mother-in-law. In the video, the woman could be heard crying for help. However, nobody came forward to her rescue. Some reports claimed that the woman had a dispute with her husband, due to which her-in-laws attacked her. 

Towards the end of the clip, it could be seen that the woman, her brother-in-law and mother-in-law fell into a ditch as she was trying to save herself from the attack. However, her father-in-law kept thrashing her.

The police have taken cognizance of the incident after the video went viral. A case has been registered under relevant sections at Tarkulwa police station.  A police team was formed to arrest the accused. Legal action is being taken as per rules, a Deoria Police official said.

No arrests have been made so far in connection with the case.
