Unnao, Uttar Pradesh: A young woman who was viciously assaulted along with her father by local miscreants in Lala Kheda village under Bihar police station area, succumbed to her injuries after battling for her life for seven days. The tragic death has sparked outrage and renewed concerns over deteriorating law and order in the region.
The horrific incident took place on May 13, when a group of goons allegedly barged into the family's home, beat the girl and her father mercilessly, and later set their house ablaze. The entire act of violence, including the arson, was caught on video, which has since gone viral on social media, further intensifying public anger.
The girl was admitted to a private hospital in critical condition, where she remained under intensive care. However, despite all efforts, she died on Sunday. A case has been registered against four individuals based on a complaint filed by her mother. Police have arrested two of the accused, while a manhunt is underway for the remaining suspects.

A video capturing the chilling sequence of the assault and subsequent arson has sent shockwaves across the area. The Unnao police took to X and wrote, "On the basis of the complaint received at Bihar Police Station, FIR No. 166/25 under sections 115 (2)/352/351 (3)/110/326 (f) BNS was registered and the accused 1. Kamlesh 2. Saurabh above have been arrested and sent to jail on 16.05.2025. Yesterday on 19.05.2025, the deceased died during her treatment at Hallet Hospital, Kanpur, whose body was brought home by her relatives. On receiving the information, Bihar Police Station immediately reached the spot, took the body of the deceased in its possession, filled the panchayatnama and sent it for post-mortem, necessary action is being taken."
