Lucknow: In a major international push to position Uttar Pradesh as a global manufacturing hub, the state government will soon launch investment roadshows across the United States, Europe, and the United Kingdom. The outreach is part of the Yogi Adityanath government’s strategic efforts to tap into the global China+1 shift—where multinational corporations are seeking alternative production bases outside China.

The roadshows, to be spearheaded by Invest UP, the state's nodal investment promotion agency, will target Fortune 500 firms and global industry leaders looking to relocate or expand their manufacturing operations. The initiative is aligned with the Chief Minister’s broader vision to transform Uttar Pradesh into a $1 trillion economy and a key player in global supply chains.

High-level business-to-government meetings and roundtable discussions are scheduled in global economic centres including New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, London, Paris, Frankfurt, Milan, Amsterdam, and Birmingham. These events will be held in collaboration with Indian embassies and industry associations such as the US India Business Council (USIBC), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), and FICCI.

In the US, the focus will be on sectors including apparel (PVH Corp, Ralph Lauren, Coach), cloud and digital services (Google, AWS, Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud), data infrastructure (Equinix, Stack Infra), and consumer manufacturing (Skechers, Mattel, TOMS, Jakks Pacific). In Europe and the UK, Invest UP will court top players in automotive, chemicals, renewables, luxury fashion, toys, food processing, and life sciences—including BMW, Bosch, BASF, Prada, LEGO, Unilever, and GSK.

“Uttar Pradesh is undergoing a transformation in industrial development under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath,” said Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh. “Our focus is not only on attracting foreign investment but on building long-term value chains, facilitating technology transfer, and driving employment-led growth.”

The state government is backing this international push with robust policy incentives, ease-of-doing-business reforms, and infrastructure development. Notable industrial milestones include a ₹3,700 crore proposal for an HCL-Foxconn OSAT semiconductor facility, the establishment of one PM MITRA Mega Textile Park and ten mini textile parks, and the rollout of the EV Policy 2023 targeting 36 GWh of battery production capacity by 2028.

With over 33 sector-specific policies, a fast-track clearance mechanism, and a single-window investment platform, Uttar Pradesh registered the highest number of new factory setups in India during FY 2024–25, reflecting rising investor confidence in the state’s industrial climate.

Through a combination of global engagement, progressive reforms, and infrastructure readiness, Uttar Pradesh is aiming to emerge as the country’s next major manufacturing and innovation hub.
