UP: In an unfortunate incident reported on Saturday morning, five people were killed and over 12 others were injured in a collision between a tractor-trolley and a mini truck. The tragedy that took place in UP's Hathras involved a group of about two dozen devotees riding on a tractor trolley on their way from Jalesar in Etah to Mathura for the Govardhan Parikrama.
Details On The Collision
As the tractor-trolley was heading towards Govardhan Parikrama, it collided head-on with a dumper while on the Sadabad road in Hathras. The intense impact caused the tractor-trolley to overturn, leading to some individuals getting trapped underneath.
Upon receiving the information, the police team immediately reached the accident site and facilitated the injured to the nearby government hospital for medical treatment. Some of the seriously wounded were later referred to the district hospital in Hathras, while one person was sent to Aligarh for further medical care.
Dumper Driver On The Run
After the accident, the dumper driver fled the scene with the vehicle. The police are actively conducting raids to apprehend the driver responsible for the collision.
The victims who lost their lives and those injured were relatives travelling together for the religious pilgrimage. The news of the tragedy has left their relatives devastated, and their emotions were evident as they mourned the loss late into the night.
Injured Individuals Identified
Superintendent of Police Devesh Kumar Pandey has directed the police to ensure proper arrangements for the treatment of the injured victims. The injured individuals have been identified as Sultan Singh, Ankit Kumar, Hemlata, Vikram Singh, Madhuri, Abhishek, Krishnapal, Vishnu, Pawan, Brijesh, Santa, and Ramvati Devi.
