Kolkata: Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra reportedly had quietly tied the knot in a private ceremony in Germany with Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader Pinaki Misra.
However, initially neither Mahua nor TMC have spoken about the same but a photo surfaced in The Telegraph online where both of them were seen holding hands in Germany and Mahua was decked up in gold.
Later, taking to X, by posting a picture Mahua said, “Thank you everyone for the love and good wishes!! So grateful.”
Congratulating Mahua, TMC national secretary Abhishek Banerjee said, “Heartfelt congratulations! Wishing you both endless happiness and a strong partnership as you start this wonderful new chapter together.”
Mahua was earlier married to Danish financier Lars Brorson, whom she divorced. She was in a relationship with advocate Jai Anant Dehadrai for nearly three years and then also had a spat with him.
Charges of ‘cash for query’ were raised against Mahua at the Parliament. On the other hand, Misra’s name had also sprung up during the ‘cash-for-query’ row and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s Odisha unit had then sought a probe by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Odisha Police against Misra.
Misra who is former MP of Odisha’s Puri was earlier married and has a son and a daughter from his previous marriage.
Misra is a senior advocate of the Supreme Court and alumnus of St. Stephen’s College.
