Kota (Rajasthan), June 29: A shocking video has surfaced on social media showing the police brutality against a shopkeeper in Rajasthan's Kota. The incident was caught on camera and the video of the incident is doing rounds on social media. It can be seen in the video that a police officer slaps the shopkeeper in the middle of the road due to which he collapses on the road and falls unconscious. The incident reportedly occurred on May 29 and the video is now being widely circulated on social media.
As per reports, Station House Officer (SHO) Pushpendra Bansiwal allegedly slapped the shopkeeper so hard that he lost his consciousness on the spot. An investigation has been initiated in connection with the matter after the victim, identified as Rizwan who works at the shop, registered complaint against the police officer.
The video shows that Bansiwal along with other police officers is dragging Rizwan by holding him with his collar. He then asks him to get into the police jeep, to which Rizwan denies and the police officer slaps him so hard that he falls to the ground in the middle of the road amid the other vehicles passing close to him. There are reports that SHO Bansiwal asked Rizwan to move a bike which was stationed in front of the shop where he worked. He tried to help, however, the bike could not be moved as the handle was locked.
However, SHO reportedly lost his temper and slapped Rizwan in front of the public and other police officers present at the spot. The slap was so severe that Rizwan collapsed and fainted. NDTV reported that Rizwan claimed that he had recently undergone ear surgery, but the police ignored his medical condition.
SHO Pushpendra Bansiwal has denied the allegations and said that the police were trying to clear the area in preparation for a rally on Maharana Pratap Jayanti. He also said that Rizwan misbehaved with the police due to which he was being taken to the police station. He denied the allegations of assault.
Internet users criticised the police officer after the video surfaced on social media. One of the users said, "Can the honorable CM @BhajanlalBjp let us know which rule of law allows a policeman to slap someone for wrong parking? Is this really what the police personnel are trained for ,to slap someone at will so hard that the person lays down unconscious?"
Another user said, "@KotaPolice What is the problem with you people ? Suspend that by officer immediately and give compensation to the innocent person at the earliest."
