Disturbing visuals continue to emerge from the tragic evening of June 4. A viral video, showing large groups of people jumping over metro station gates, bypassing tokens or QR code scans entry system has emerged, raising question over crowd management and civic discipline.

In the video, massive crowd can be seen climbing and vaulting over the automated fare gates at an unidentified metro station.The incident took place as metro trains were overcrowded with commuters.

Reportedly, thousands of fans had gathered to celebrate Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s maiden IPL victory, which caused severe overcrowding at nearby metro stations.

At least 11 people died in a stampede that took place near Chinnaswamy Stadium. The tragedy unfolded when the victory celebrations were taking place inside the stadium. According to reports, confusion over the victory parade, free passes, overcrowding and limited seats at the stadium are said to be some of the major reasons that led to the stampede.
