Senior Samajwadi Party leader Ram Gopal Yadav issued a clarification on Monday morning after a screenshot of a comment from his official X account on a post featuring pictures of porn stars went viral.
"I want to inform all my well-wishers that I do not have any Instagram or Facebook account. Some fraudsters create fake Twitter pages or accounts, Instagram accounts, and Facebook accounts in my name and post misleading messages. I have already filed an FIR against them. Please beware of these fake people," he wrote.
This post comes after a screenshot of a comment from 79-year-old Ram Gopal Yadav's handle went viral in which he agreed to a post that said "Nothing is more beautiful than a girl in saree, do you agree?" The post featured a picture of porn star Nics India with a female porn star. Ram Gopal Yadav replied "Yes" to the post.
Shortly after the SP leader's clarification, netizens were quick to highlight that the comment wasn't made from any Facebook or Instagram accounts—it came from Ram Gopal Yadav's official X account from which the clarification was issued.
Ram Gopal Yadav's comment has drawn strong reactions from social media users.
Hitting out at the SP leader, BSP spokesperson Piyush Mishra wrote, "Dear Ramgopal Yadav ji, please control your impulses and post accordingly. Such mistakes do not suit you at this age, nor are you a young boy anymore! As for the matter of right or wrong, this comment/post was your 382nd, which you deleted, and then today you posted this again, which still counts as number 382! So, please wait until midnight before telling lies!"
Samajwadi Party leader and Ghoshi MP Rajeev Rai came in support of Ram Gopal Yadav and said, "Sir (Ram Gopal Yadav), it is unfortunate that even a personality like you has to give explanations. Because even after we file cases, the police do not take action. Creating fake accounts to post random comments has become a business. I have also filed an FIR."
