Srinagar: The Resistance Front (TRF), an offshoot of the banned Pakistan-based terrorist organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), on Saturday, denied its role in the Pahalgam terror attack which took place on April 22. Notably, the TRF claimed responsibility for the attack earlier this week.

"TRF unequivocally denies any involvement in the Pahalgam incident. Any attribution of this act to TRF is false, hasty," the terror outfit said in a statement going viral on social media.

TRF's Statement:

The terror organisation claimed that an unauthorised posted on its one of the digital platforms.

"After an internal audit, we have reason to believe it was the result of a coordinated cyber intrusion. We are conducting a full investigation to trace the breach, and early indicators suggest fingerprints of Indian cyber-intelligence operatives," the terror organisation stated.

On April 22, a group of five to six terrorists killed 27 tourists and a local pony guide at Baisaran meadows near Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam. They singled out Hindu males and shot them dead.

After the attack, India downgraded diplomatic ties with Pakistan. New delhi announced five-point sanction against Islamabad, including suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty 1960.

All About TRF:

The TRF is a banned terrorist outfit and a shadow group of the LeT. TRF emerged in 2019. It is suspected to be a tool of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) to maintain plausible deniability while orchestrating terror operations in Kashmir. The outfit has also been involved in recruiting youth through online networks, as well as trafficking arms and narcotics into the Valley.

The group was officially banned under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) in January 2023, and its top commander, Sheikh Sajjad Gul, has been titled as a terrorist by Indian authorities.
