Rajasthan News: Canter Breakdown In Ranthambore Forest, Tourists Stranded For More Than Hour

Jaipur: Around 25 tourists were stranded for more than one hour in the forest of Ranthambore Tiger Reserve (RTR) as their jungle safari canter broke down on Saturday late in the evening. The incident happened in zone 6 of RTR in the territory of tiger Badal, Noor, and tigress Laxmi.

Videos of the tourists making rounds on social media showed an open canter in the forest, and a woman is complaining to the driver and asking where the guide has gone, while the driver can be heard saying, "Guide to bhag gaya"."The tourists were rescued after about one and a half hours when one of the tourists came out of the forest by taking a lift and informed the officials, who sent another canter, although it also had no headlights.

The tourists said that they went for the safari in the evening shift when their canter brackdown and the situation became scary as it started getting dark. The guide with the canter also left them, promising to send another canter.

The tourists were ready to push the canter of it could start, but the driver told them to remain in the canter as it was dense forest.

When the guide did not return with any vehicle for a long time, a tourist named Mohit talked to another canter driver, but he demanded an arbitrary amount. On this, Mohit took a lift in a passing gypsy to come out of the forest and informed the forest officials about the situation, who later sent another vehicle.

Taking action on the incident, the RTR administration has banned the entry of three canter drivers and the guide in the forest.

"The incident that happened with the tourists on Saturday has been investigated. The entry of the three canter drivers Liaquat Ali, Shahzad, and Kanhaiya and the guide Mukesh, found guilty in this, has been banned in the park, " said Pramod Dhakad, DFO (Tourism) of the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve.
