Raebareli (Uttar Pradesh), March 3: In a shocking incident, two men on a bike narrowly escaped death as a speeding SUV hit them head on in Uttar Pradesh's Raebareli. The horrific accident was caught on camera and the video of the incident is doing rounds on social media. It can be seen on the video that a speeding SUV which went out of control rammed into the bikers head on due to which the two men were thrown into the air for several metres. They landed onto an e-rickshaw coming from behind due to the impact.
As per reports, the incident occurred on Sunday (March 2) in Unchahar market area on the Lucknow-Prayagraj National Highway in Raebareli. The car which rammed into the bikers was decorated with garlands of flowers. The car was on its way to pick up the groom for the wedding when the incident occurred.
The two men on the bike were on their way to have juice at a roadside stall in the market when the speeding SUV rammed into them. The CCTV footage of the incident is going viral on social media and it can be seen in the video that the young men on the bike were thrown around 15 feet away after the car hit their bike. Luckily, no casualties were reported in the incident. However, they both suffered serious injuries in the accident.
The bikers have been identified as Surya and his friend Guru Sharan who are the residents of Kandarawa. The driver sped the after hitting them and did not even stop to check if they are dead or alive. The car then reportedly hit another pedestrian later who has been identified as Mohammad Kaleem near the Hanuman Temple. The people present at the spot rushed the injured to the CHC (Community Health Center). One critically injured was referred to the District Hospital as his condition deteriorated.
As per reports, the SUV was supposed to take the groom from Jamuniya Har village to Pure Ganni village for the wedding. The incident came to light when the CCTV footage of the accident surfaced on Monday morning. The CCTV footage shows the SUV hitting the bikers and then speeding away. There are reports that the police have registered a complaint and initiated an inquiry into the matter. The police have taken the vehicle into their custody and initiated further investigation into the matter.
