Punjab News: Sacked Constable Amandeep Kaur, Known As ‘Insta Queen,’ Arrested In Disproportionate Assets Case

According to media reports, she was on police radar as a suspect transporting heroin in the area but escaped police eye as she drove vehicles which bore Punjab police stickers and even reportedly did not allow cops to inspect her vehicle when stopped claiming that she was also a cop.

Chandigarh: Amandeep Kaur, a senior lady constable of Punjab police, who was dismissed from service after being arrested with 17.71 gram heroin last month, was again arrested on Monday in connection with a disproportionate assets case.

Though she was nabbed with 17.7 gram heroin from Badal road in Bathinda city on April 2, last driving her black SUV, additional district sessions judge Mahesh Grover had ordered her release from judicial custody on bail stating that the alleged recovery falls within the scope of non-commercial category. However, she was dismissed from service.

It may also be recalled that Kaur had drawn public attention and was also under the lens of the department because of her luxurious lifestyle including high-end vehicles and lavish home, raising suspicions about the source of her income.

Also known as ``Insta Queen'', Kaur had caught attention with her flamboyant lifestyle as she often posted reels with her Thar on Instagram where she has over 30,000 followers.

On Monday, she was nabbed from Muktsar district.

Meanwhile, according to official information, the VB has arrested the dismissed lady senior constableKaur for amassing assets disproportionate to her known sources of income.

An official VB spokesperson said that during the investigation, details of her movable and immovable properties acquired between 2018 and 2025 were scrutinized, along with her salary, bank accounts and loan records.

He informed that the probe revealed that Kaur had a total income of Rs. 1,08,37,550 during the check period while her expenditure stood at Rs. 1,39,64,802.97 which is Rs. 31,27,252.97 more than her known sources of income, that amounts to 28.85 % beyond her legitimate earnings.

The spokesperson added that based on these findings, the VB has registered case No. 15 dated 26/05/2025 under Sections 13(1) and 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act at VB police station Bathinda range. Further investigation in the case is underway.
