New Delhi, May 12: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation for the first time after the Indian armed forces carried out Operation Sindoor on Monday (May 12).

He started the address by saluting the armed forces, the military, the intelligence agency and the scientists. He also declared that Operation was successful and said that "Our forces made the Operation Sindoor a success. Entire nation was united against terrorism."

PM Modi said that the terrorists did not even imagined the scale of the attack which was done by India. He said, "They did not imagined India's response. These terrorists destroyed the 'Sindoor' of our sisters. The armed forces in response destroyed their hideouts and headquarters."

He said that Pakistan got furious over India's action against the terrorists. They started targetting our civilians and also temples in our country. He further stated that the Pakistani drones and missiles were destroyed in the air by our defence systems.

Indian drones destroyed Pakistani air bases which they were very proud of. In only three days, they started asking the world to intervene and urged them for a ceasefire. They called the DGMO of India and requested for a truce on May 10. However, before that India destroyed their terrorist headquarters.

He also said that Pakistan confirmed that they will not carry out any terrorist act against India, only then the ceasefire was agreed upon. However, he said that India will take a strict action if any such terrorist activity is repeated by Pakistan in the future.

The armed forces targeted terrorist hideouts deep inside Pakistan and decimated the locations and also issued the satellite images of these locations during the press conference held by the DGMOs.

India and Pakistan agreed for a ceasefire on Saturday (May 10).
