Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Thursday personally shouldered the mortal remains of state businessman Dinesh Mirania, who was tragically killed in a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. The Chief Minister met with the grieving family, offering heartfelt condolences and words of comfort during this moment of profound loss.
Earlier, state Governor Ramen Deka on Thursday paid heartfelt tribute to Dinesh Mirania, a resident of Raipur who lost his life in the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
Governor Deka visited the bereaved family at their residence in Raipur early morning. He offered floral tributes to the mortal remains of the deceased and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul. Expressing his deep sorrow and condolences, the Governor spent time consoling the grief-stricken family and offering words of comfort.
“This is a tragic loss not only for the Mirania family but for the entire state. Shri Dinesh Mirania was a promising citizen, and his untimely death in such a heinous act of terrorism is deeply painful,” Governor Deka said.
Standing in solidarity with the bereaved family, Sai assured them of full government support and committed to honoring Mirania’s memory. “We will preserve the sacred memories of Dinesh Mirania. The government is considering naming a road or square after him to ensure his contribution and life are remembered permanently,” he said.
Calling the attack a cowardly and inhuman act, Sai condemned the terrorists' attempt to destabilize the country by targeting innocent civilians, including tourists. “The entire state is mourning the loss of one of its sons. This attack has not only hurt the family but has wounded the soul of the nation,” he said.
Reaffirming the impact of the abrogation of Article 370, Sai stated that the move brought peace, boosted tourism, and accelerated development in Jammu and Kashmir. He expressed that attacks like this are attempts to halt the region’s progress, but warned that Pakistan would have to face consequences for such acts of provocation.
A large number of citizens and political leaders joined the funeral procession to pay their last respects, including Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, Finance Minister O.P. Choudhary, Union Minister of State Tokhan Sahu, MLAs Kiran Deo and Rajesh Munat, and Civil Supplies Corporation Chairman Sanjay Srivastava.
