Jaipur: In response to the Pahalgam terror attack, 400 Pakistani nationals in Rajasthan have been asked to leave the country via Attari border by April 30th.
The step has been taken on the directions of the central government, which has asked all the states to send back all the Pakistani nationals. Rajasthan, being a border state, has been asked to take special measures regarding this.
Director General intelligence Sanjay Agarwal said that on the directions of the central government orders have been given to all the District SPs regarding sending back the Pakistani citizens who came to Rajasthan on different visas.
“Many Pakistani citizens have returned and District SP has been instructed to take action to send the rest of the Pakistani citizens from their district to Pakistan as soon as possible,” said DG.
Rajasthan shares a 1070 km international border with Pakistan, specifically with the Sindh and Punjab provinces. This border is located in the western and northwestern parts of Rajasthan, extending across the Thar Desert. Several districts in Rajasthan border with Pakistan, including Sriganganagar, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, and Barmer.
Pakistani nationals come on tourist, religious, student and medical visas to Rajasthan. Pakistani citizens have to register at the Foreign Regional Registration Office (FRRO) while coming to India. All the FRRO have been asked to contact the Pakistani nationals and direct them to leave India by April 30th.
Rajasthan has a good number of Pakistani refugees as well. Director General of Police UR Sahu said that there are about 30 thousand refugees in Rajasthan who will be verified now and further action regarding them will be taken after the central government's guideline.
