Kolkata: A day before Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS) which will be held at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday said that at least 200 foreign delegates are likely to attend the two days BGBS in Kolkata from February 5 and 6.

“Bhutan Prime Minister is also likely to attend the business summit as he had confirmed last October, but I don’t know exactly what has happened but there is some problem with the central government with the Bhutan PM, now whether he will come or not is not confirmed. Mukesh Ambani and the rest who attend every year will come. Over 40 countries are participating in the business summit. Representatives from 22 countries have already reached,” said Mamata.

According to the sources, apart from Ambani, Jindal group, Lalit Suri Hospitality Group along with Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren is likely to visit BGBS.

According to the state secretariat Nabanna sources, during the cabinet meeting, Mamata had instructed bureaucrats of all departments to look into last-minute preparations for BGBS.

“No specific sector will be highlighted in BGBS but every sector which is important for trade and industry will be discussed,” said Nabanna sources.

Notably, all roads and flyovers are given a fresh layer of paint ahead of BGBS and the flexes and posters on BGBS are seen all over the city.
