Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, spearheading the campaign for an anti-BJP front, has extended invitations to leaders of 18 political parties for an opposition unity meeting scheduled to take place on June 12 in Patna.
During a media interaction in the state capital, Nitish stated, "Invitations have been dispatched to the presidents of 18 like-minded parties, aiming to hold a comprehensive discussion on the formation of a united front against the BJP for the upcoming 2024 General Election."
In his endeavor to strengthen the anti-BJP front, Nitish had previously held meetings with leaders from various political parties in Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai.
Meanwhile, the JD-U (Janata Dal-United) organized a statewide protest (dharna) on Sunday to express their discontent with the inauguration of the new Parliament building by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In Patna, party leaders staged a dharna at Ambedkar Statue, located opposite the Patna High Court.

The Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee also coordinated a protest march from Boring Road square to Ambedkar Statue, joining the collective demonstration.
