New Delhi: Amid escalating tensions, multiple Indian drone strikes were reported across Pakistan on Wednesday night (May 8) under what is being termed Operation Sindoor Phase 2. The Pakistani Army claims that the attacks targeted key locations including the following cities:
1. Lahore
2. Attock
3. Gujranwala
4. Chakwal
5. Rawalpindi
6. Bahawalpur
7. Mianwali
8. Chor
9. Karachi
According to a report by NDTV, Pakistani military sources have claimed that most of the drones were "neutralised," but confirmed that at least one did strike Lahore. There are no confirmed reports of casualties or damage yet.
Operation Sindoor appears to be India’s continued retaliatory action following the April 22 deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 26 people. The attack was reportedly carried out by Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba.
The first phase of Operation Sindoor began shortly after and included cross-border precision strikes targeting nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
