Parliament on Tuesday saw tumultuous proceedings as both houses discussed Operation Sindoor and the Pahalgam terror attack, with attacks on each other from both sides - the treasury and opposition.
Participating in the debate, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge launched a scathing attack on the Centre and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Kharge claimed PM Modi ignored his repeated demand for a special session of Parliament to discuss the Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor.
"Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi ji and I wrote a letter to PM Modi demanding a special session, but we received no response to this letter. There is so much arrogance in PM Modi that he does not even consider it necessary to respond to the opposition's letter. A day will come when your arrogance will be shattered," the senior Congress leader said.
"PM Modi has the time to cling to people, but no time to respond to opposition leaders," he added.
Raising questions about PM Modi's cancelled visit to Jammu and Kashmir, he said, "Three days before the Pahalgam attack, PM Modi had cancelled his visit. I had asked for an answer regarding this earlier as well, but no response was received. I am still asking today: Did the government have prior apprehension of any attack? If yes, then why did you allow tourists to go there?"
