Farrukhabad: A shocking incident has come to light from Uttar Pradesh's Farrukhabad, where a young man returned home from a police station and took his own life by hanging himself. On Tuesday morning, around 06:30, family members found his body in a room and informed the police. The police have sent the body for a post-mortem examination.

Accused Police Brutality In Suicide Note

Before taking this extreme step, the young man accused police constables Jaswant and Mahesh of brutality and torture, alleging they subjected him to "3rd degree torture." He also claimed that the constables demanded a bribe of ₹50,000. In a suicide note written on the trousers he was wearing, the deceased said that the constables had demanded ₹50,000 but released him after he paid ₹40,000, as he was unable to pay the full amount.

He also accused his in-laws of harassing him and extorting money from him. The deceased's father has filed an FIR against 5 people.

25-year-old Dilip Kumar, a resident of Gutasi village, was a farmer. He married Neeraj (23), a resident of Rasidpur village, three years ago (in 2022). They also have a three-month-old daughter.

According to the deceased man's father, on Monday night, Dilip had a fight with his wife, Neeraj, over an undisclosed issue.

After this, Neeraj filed a complaint against her husband at the Hathiapur police post of Maudarwaja police station. After this, two constables, Yashwant Yadav and Mahesh Upadhyay, came. Both of them took Dilip to the police station.

There, Constable Yashwant Yadav demanded ₹50,000 and said that he would let him go only if he was given the money. After this, constable Mahesh Upadhyay took Dilip inside and thrashed him on the orders of his wife's brother, Rajnesh Rajput, according to the complaint.

In his suicide note the deceased has written,"Meri biwi ne muje police se pitwaya." Which roughly translates to, "My wife got me tharshed by cops."

Both the accused constables were immediately suspended.
