Meerut: A horrifying incident surfaced from Uttar Pradesh's Meerut, where a merchant navy officer was allegedly murdered by his wife with the help of her boyfriend. The alleged murder took place on March 4 in Meerut’s Brahmpuri region. The deceased has been identified as 35-year-old Saurabh Rajput. He was reportedly murdered days after returning from London for celebrating his wife's birthday.
The accused, Muskan Rastogi and her lover Sahil Shukla, chopped Saurabh's body into pieces. The accused then put Saurabh's body parts into a drum full of cement and got them sealed. The victim's decomposed remains were recovered on Tuesday.
How Muskan's Mother Came To Know About The Murder:
The entire matter surfaced after Muskan's mother approached the police and alerted the cops, reported India Today. Muskan's mother revealed that her daughter had confessed that she killed Saurabh.
As per Dainik Bhaskar's reports, after killing Sautrabh, Muskan and her boyfriend went to Shimla. Sahil told police that he got married to Muskan in a temple there. As they started to face a shortage of money and Muskan was also not able to withdraw Rs six lakh from Saurabh's account, she then called her mother, Kavita.
As per Dainik Bhaskar's report, after Muskan's mother strictly asked her about Saurabh, she confessed to the crime. Muskan's mother then asked her to return home.
Meanwhile, a foul smell also started emanating from the victim’s rented house in Brahmpuri's Indra Nagar Phase 2.
How Muskan Tried To Cover-Up The Crime:
After killing Saurabh, Muskan and his lover left for the hills. She also carried Saurabh's mobile phone with her to avoid any suspicion. Muskan also kept messaging his husband's family. However, she kept ignoring the request of Saurabh's family to speak with him.
Both accused were taken into custody. They were reportedly booked for destruction of evidence.
Saurabh and Muskan married in 2016. Their families were not happy with the marriage so they started living in a rented apartment. The couple had a six-year-old daughter. Saurabh left job to spend more time with his wife. In 2019 they blessed with a daughter. However, when he came to know about Muskan's extramarital affair with Sahil, he joined back merchant navy and went out of country in 2023, reported NDTV.
On March 14, the police recovered Saurabh's body parts from the cement drum. A detailed investigation has been launched into the matter.
