New Delhi: Hinting that the Indus Waters Treaty will continue to remain suspended, PM Modi in his address to the nation said "Terror aur trade ek sath nahi chal sakte, paani aur khoon bhi ek sath nahi bah sakta," which roughly translates to, "Terror and trade cannot go together and water and blood cannot flow together."
"Today I want to say to the global community, "It's our announced policy that if there are talks with Pakistan, then it will be about terrorism and on Pakistan Occupied Kashmir," he said.
PM Modi in his address to the nation, first saluted the armed forces and lauded their bravery for the success of Operation Sindoor. PM Modi dedicated the bravery of the armed forces to the mothers and sisters of India. PM Modi then spoke about the Pahalgam incident. "For me it was a very big pain," he said. "After this every political party and citizen got united and stood against terrorism," he added.
He further said, "Operation Sindoor is a pledge for justice. And on the intervening night of 6th and 7th May this justice was seen."
"Any big terror attack in the world to date was connected to these headquarters, which were destroyed by India in operation Sindoor. More than 100 terrorists were killed in this operation."
Speaking on Pakistan's threats on using nuclear weapons and issuing a stern warning to Pakistan PM Modi said, "...No nuclear blackmail will be tolerated anymore..." he said, "Terrorist attack on India will have to face a befitting reply, and the response will be on our terms."
This is Prime Minister Narendra Modi's first address after Operation Sindoor, which took place on 7 May, in retaliation to the terror attack in Jammu & Kashmir's Pahalgam.
