Ajmer: A fire broke out at a hotel in Ajmer, Rajasthan on Thursday morning, creating panic among people. Four people have been reported dead and eight injured. The fire broke out at around 8 am, and within minutes, it engulfed Hotel Naaz, forcing people to jump from the hotel to save their lives. Four people, including two men, a woman, and a four-year-old child, died due to suffocation and burn injuries, said Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College Principal Dr Anil Samaria.
The cause of the fire is said to be a short circuit. Eyewitnesses claim to have heard a loud explosion, probably due to the AC bursting, before the fire broke out. A detailed inquiry into the matter has been ordered.
A video of people jumping from the hotel to save their lives has emerged. A big cloud of black smoke can be seen coming out of the hotel in the video. people can be seen risking their lives and jumping from the hotel's window to save themselves. People can be heard saying, "Kood jaa" Kood jaa" with panic in their voice. Which roughly translates to "Jump, Jump."

In another incident, a woman threw her child from the third floor of the hotel window to save the child. The child has suffered minor burns. "A woman threw her child in my lap from a window. She also tried to jump off the building, but we stopped her," Mangila Kalosia, who was staying at the hotel, told news agency PTI.
18 visitors were staying at the hotel at the time of the incident. These were visitors from Delhi, who had come to Ajmer on a pilgrimage. The rescue operation is now over and the fire has been extinguished.
