BJP Wins 11 Seats, Including Bangalore Central & Haveri

Eleven seats have gone to the BJP and the party is leading in six constituencies, according to the ECI data. The seats won by the party are Haveri, Dharwad, Uttara Kannada, Shimoga, Udupi Chikmagalur, Dakshina Kannada, Chitradurga, Tumkur, Mysore, Bangalore Central and Chikkballapur.

The Congress has been leading in six seats while it won three constituencies.

BJP Registers Win In 7 Seats; Leads In 10

The BJP registered win in seven constituencies of the 28 Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka and maintained lead in 10 seats. The seats won by the party are Haveri, Dharwad, Uttara Kannada, Shimoga, Dakshina Kannada, Chitradurga and Tumkur. While the saffron party has won marginally more seats that the Congress, the number shows a fall in the BJP seats. In 2019, the party swept the Lok Sabha polls by winning a whopping 25 of the 28 seats.

Meanwhile, the Congress secured one seat (Gulbarga) and has been leading in eight seats, and the JD(S) won two seats – Mandya (HD Kumaraswamy) and Kolar (M Mallesh Babu). The JD(S), however, lost the Hassan seat from where the tainted MP Prajwal Revanna contested elections before his sexual abuse allegations came to the light.

BJP To See Loss In Seats Compared To 2019 Polls? Saffron Party Leads Only In 15 Constituencies

The BJP is leading in 15 seats out of Karnataka's 28 Lok Sabha constituencies, while the Congress is ahead in 10 seats. Meanwhile, JD(S) has taken lead in two seats.

While the BJP may lead in 15 seats, the numbers are a massive downfall for the saffron party that secured victory in 25 seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

In Congress chief's native place, Kalaburagi (also Gulbarga), his son-in-law Radhakrishna Doddamani was seen leading against BJP's Umesh G Jadhav, who is the sitting MP in the region. The margin between the two candidates is more than 30,000 votes.

In A Major Development, Tainted JD(S) MP Prajwal Trails In Hassan

Prajwal Revanna, the tainted JD(S) MP of Hassan, has been trailing after maintaining a lead since the vote counting began on Tuesday. Prajwal, who is accused of sexually abusing several women and recording the obscene acts, was trailing with a margin over 8,300 votes. Meanwhile, the Congress' Shreyas M Patel, has garnered 3,87,011 votes so far.

The BJP has maintained a lead in 18 of 28 constituencies in Karnataka, while the Congress is leading in seven seats and the JD(S) in three seats.

BJP Leads In 19 Seats, Congress Ahead In 6 Constituencies

BJP was seen leading in 19 constituencies of the total 28 in Karnataka. The ECI data on Tuesday morning showed the saffron party taking a lead across most seats in the state. The early trends noted other political parties left far behind with Congress leading in six constituencies and JD(S) in only three.

According to the early trends, the BJP has been leading in eight seats – Gulbarga, Dharwad, Uttara Kannada, Shimoga, Chitradurg, Mysore, Bangalore Rural and Chikkaballapur. In stark contrast, the Congress is leading only on one seat, which is Davanagere. Meanwhile, the JD(S), which is in the alliance with the BJP is leading in two seats – Mandya and Kolar.

BJP Leads In 15 Seats, Congress Ahead In 4 Constituencies While JD(S) Leads In2

The Election Commission of India stated that the BJP is leading 15 constituencies, while the Congress is ahead in four constituencies and the JD(S) is leading in two seats. The seats where the BJP is leading include Bangalore Rural, Bangalore North and Bangalore South.

Karnataka, the only south Indian state with a strong presence of the right-wing politics, voted in two phases – April 26 and May 7. The state has been electorally interesting since its voters poll differently during the general assembly elections and the state assembly elections.

Karnataka contributes 28 Lok Sabha seats to the country's 543 general assembly seats. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP won 25 of the 28 seats, while the Congress and Janata Dal (Secular) had to pacify themselves with only one seat each. One independent, backed by the BJP, managed to secure one seat.
