Kanpur: A massive fire broke out in a market area in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur on the intervening night of February 27 and 28. The blaze erupted at Galla Mandi under the jurisdiction of Hanumant Vihar police station.
After receiving the information, fire tenders reached the sport and launched a firefighting operation. Senior officials also rushed to the spot. Dramatic visuals of the blaze also surfaced online. In the visuals, massive flames could be seen billowing out of the area.

After the blaze erupted panic gripped the locals. The reason for the fire is not known yet. There are no reports of any injuries due to the blaze.

Meanwhile, it was the second fire incident in the city within 24 hours. On Thursday night, a blaze erupted in a three-story building in the Nehru Nagar area of the city. This fire broke out due to a short circuit at a TV shop on the ground floor. There were eight families living in the building.
Neighbours rushed to the spot after hearing screams from the inhabitants of the building. Firefighters reached the spot and rescued the people living in the building. A woman reportedly was injured in the blaze. Almost after two hours, the blaze was brought under control.
