J&K: Pahalgam SHO Among Police Officers Transferred Following Terrorist Attack

Reyaz Ahmed, who served as the SHO of Pahalgam Police Station, was transferred to Anantnag. Inspector Peer Gulzar Ahmed has been appointed as his replacement at the Pahalgam station.

Following the Pahalgam terror attack, several Station House Officers (SHOs) have been transferred, including the SHO of Pahalgam, who is attached to the District Police Line (DPL) Anantnag.

According to reports, Reyaz Ahmed, who served as the SHO of Pahalgam Police Station, was transferred to Anantnag. Inspector Peer Gulzar Ahmed has been appointed as his replacement at the Pahalgam station.

4-5 terrorists killed 26 people, mostly tourist in the Baisaran Valley on April 22. Following attack, PM Modi cut short his visit to Saudi Arabia and returned to India.

In the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack, India has taken several strong measures against Pakistan. These include the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty—an agreement from 1960 that had not been suspended even during times of war with Pakistan.

Meanwhile, government has taken a major step regarding security preparedness. The Ministry of Home Affairs has directed several states across the country to conduct a comprehensive civil defense mock drill on May 7.
