Khagaria: A shocking news has come to light from Bihar's Khagaria, Janta Dal (United) leader Rajkishor Nishad has been murdered. According to NDTV Hindi, the assailants used an iron rod to commit the crime. After the incident, his supporters blocked the road in anger. Further details in the matter are awaited.
Earlier in the day, unidentified assailants shot dead a murder convict, Chandan Mishra, who was admitted to a hospital in Patna for treatment. The five gunmen involved in the firing incident were captured on CCTV installed in the hospital. The visuals also surfaced online.
In the video, the gunmen could be seen entering Mishra’s room with guns in their hands. After shooting Mishra, the accused fled from the spot. The victim is a resident of the Buxar district and is an undertrial prisoner.
The victim was on parole on the grounds of required medical attention and was admitted to Paras Hospital for treatment, when unidentified assailants barged into the hospital and shot him, Patna SSP Kartikay Sharma said, as reported by ANI.
Mishra was a known criminal with dozens of murder cases registered against him. The police suspected the involvement of a rival gang in the firing incident.
Chirag Paswan Attacks Nitish Kumar-led Government
Hours after the incident, Union Minister and NDA ally Chirag Paswan hit out at the Nitish Kumar-led BJP-JDU government, saying that Bihar's law and order situation has become a cause for concern.
Paswan took to X and said, "Law and order in Bihar has become a serious concern today. Murders are happening every day, and the morale of criminals is sky-high. The functioning of the police and administration is beyond comprehension.."

"The incident of criminals openly firing inside Paras Hospital, located in a residential area of Patna today, is proof that criminals are now directly challenging the law and administration. The rising criminal cases just before the Bihar Legislative Election are worrisome. It is hoped that the administration will soon take concrete and strict steps to bring law and order back on track," he added.
