This is Prime Minister Narendra Modi's first address after Operation Sindoor, which took place on 7 May, in retaliation to the terror attack in Jammu & Kashmir's Pahalgam.

New Delhi: PM Modi in his address to the nation, first saluted the armed forces and their bravery for the achievement of Operation Sindoor. PM Modi dedicated the bravery of armed forces to the mothers and sisters of India. PM Modi then spoke about the Pahalgam incident. "For me it was a very big pain," he said. "After this every political party and citizen got united and stood against terrorism," he added.

He further said, "Operation Sindoor is a pledge for justice. And on the intervening night of 6th and 7th May this justice was seen."

"Any big terror attack in the world till date were connected to to these headquarters, which was destroyed by India in operation Sindoor. More than 100 terrorists were killed in this operation."

Speaking on Pakistan's threats on using nuclear weapons and issuing a stern warning to Pakistan PM Modi said, "...No nuclear blackmail will be tolerated anymore..." he said, "Terrorist attack on India will have to face a befitting reply, and the response will be on our terms."

Earlier in the day, PM Modi chaired a high-level meeting with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. Besides, Talks between India and Pakistan's Director Generals of Military Operations  (DGMO) took place on hotline.

Reportedly, both sides have agreed on some key points. 1) Civilians should not be targeted. 2) There would be no firing from either side, Zero tolerance policy on infiltration will continue. 3) There should be no intrusion of drones.
