In an unprecedented move, the Opposition's INDIA Bloc on Tuesday moved a no-confidence motion against Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar.
According to reports, over 70 Rajya Sabha MPs have signed the motion submitted to the Secretary General of the Rajya Sabha.
The motion by Opposition parties is expected to yield no results as they lack the majority required to get it passed in the Upper House of Parliament as well as in the Lok Sabha.

The Opposition leaders have accused the Rajya Sabha Chairman of being partial and not allowing them the opportunity to speak in the House through the presiding officer.
Today, proceeding of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha was adjourned for the day after unruly scenes broke out during the proceedings. Members of Parliament from both the opposition and treasury benches exchanged heated remarks, leading to a disruption in the day's schedule.
What did Jairam Ramesh say?
In a post on X, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said: "ALL parties belonging to the INDIA group have had no option but to formally submit a no-confidence motion against the learned Hon'ble Chairman of the Rajya Sabha for the extremely partisan manner in which he has been conducting the proceedings of the Council of States. It has been a very painful decision for the INDIA parties to take, but in the interests of parliamentary democracy, they have had to take this step."
"The motion has just been submitted to the Secretary General of the Rajya Sabha," he added.
