RJD leader Tej Pratap Yadav’s estranged wife, Aishwarya Rai, has raised serious questions about the Yadav family, dismissing party chief Lalu Yadav’s recent decision to cut ties with his eldest son as "drama" ahead of the state elections.
Speaking to the media on Monday, Aishwarya said, “Everyone knows what happened. If they [Lalu Prasad Yadav’s family] knew everything, why did they marry him to me? Why was my life ruined? Why was I beaten? Now they’ve suddenly had a social awakening.”
“They are all together—they haven’t separated. The elections are near, so they’ve taken this step and created this drama... I found out about my divorce through the media. All the information I got was from the media—I didn’t know what was happening. Ask them: what was the need to ruin my life?” she added.
Levelling serious allegations against the Yadav family, Aishwarya claimed she was blamed for everything and even physically assaulted, vowing to continue her fight for justice.
Her revelation about being abused at her in-laws’ home comes a day after the party patriarch severed ties with Tej Pratap Yadav, expelling him for six years over "disciplinary reasons" in a social media post.
The expulsion followed controversy after Tej Pratap shared a photo with a woman he called his "girlfriend of 12 years." He later deleted it, claiming his account was hacked and the image doctored.
Aishwarya Rai, granddaughter of former Bihar Chief Minister Daroga Prasad Rai (1970), married Tej Pratap in 2018, but their relationship deteriorated within a year. According to reports, their divorce proceedings are ongoing in court.
