Zee News anchor Pooja has alleged that she was followed and harassed by three men on a motorcycle in broad daylight in Noida on Wednesday. The incident, captured on her phone camera, has sparked widespread condemnation and calls for swift police action.

In a post on social media platform X, Pooja shared footage showing three youths on a high-speed motorcycle. The video captures one of the riders looking towards her before attempting to conceal the vehicle's number plate with his helmet upon noticing he was being filmed.

"Noida: In broad daylight, I was followed & harassed by 3 men on a bike. When I pulled out my phone, they tried to cover the number plate with a helmet," Pooja wrote in her post, tagging Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the state police.

The anchor emphasised her determination not to be intimidated, stating, "This is Uttar Pradesh & women will NOT be intimidated."

The incident has drawn significant support from the journalism community, with numerous colleagues sharing her post and demanding strict action against the perpetrators.

Social media users expressed concern over the law and order situation. "In Noida, an anchor is being mistreated, and immediate action should be taken," commented one user. Another, Bishwajeet Maurya, criticised the state's safety claims, writing, "This is the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh, where miscreants don't have an ounce of fear. Not only are they flouting road safety rules, but they are also harassing a woman. The police and leaders here make theatrical claims that women can roam around wearing jewellery in the darkness of night. They can't even provide safety during the day."

Responding promptly to the post, the Uttar Pradesh Police's official X handle directed Noida Police to investigate the matter. The local police subsequently requested specific details from the complainant regarding the time, date, and location of the incident.

According to information provided by the anchor through a screenshot, the harassment occurred at approximately 3:30 pm on Wednesday near Parthala Khanjarpur in Sector 122, Noida. Police investigations are currently underway.
