Hyderabad police revealed on Friday that the recently arrested couple, who allegedly live-streamed sexual acts via a mobile application, had resorted to illegal activities due to severe financial difficulties.

According to reports, the couple struggled to pay college fees for their two daughters. Their elder daughter is currently in her second year of a B.Tech programme, while the younger daughter - who scored an impressive 468 out of 470 in this year's intermediate examinations, was preparing to begin her college education.

Police disclosed that the husband, who drives an auto-rickshaw to support his family, had been unwell and unable to afford medical treatment.

Authorities arrested the married couple from Mallikarjuna Nagar in Amberpet on Thursday, seizing multiple items of equipment including high-definition cameras from their residence.

Investigations revealed the couple had been producing and distributing intimate videos of themselves to paying customers through mobile apps, primarily targeting younger audiences. They reportedly charged Rs 2,000 for live streams and Rs 500 for pre-recorded content.

Law enforcement officials noted this illegal enterprise generated substantially more income than the husband's legitimate earnings as an auto-rickshaw driver. The couple allegedly used professional filming equipment and wore masks to conceal their identities during recordings.

The East Zone Task Force conducted the raid following intelligence reports, resulting in the arrests. Police have registered a case under the Information Technology Act and initiated a full investigation. Authorities have also issued notices to individuals who purchased content from the couple.
