Amroha: The wall of a dilapidated house suddenly collapsed at around 11 AM on Friday in Mohalla Batwal of Uttar Pradesh's Amroha city. Akif Mansoori, who was passing through the area on his bike, was buried under the debris. The entire incident was captured by a nearby CCTV camera.
The footage shows Mansoori riding through a narrow lane when, suddenly, a massive section of debris falls on him from the house. A cloud of brown dust emerges, partially obscuring visibility. The video of the incident has gone viral on social media.
Locals heard the noise and rushed to the spot and pulled the young man out of the debris after a lot of effort. Mansoori got severely injured in the incident and was immediately admitted to a private hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. His bike was also damaged.
Reportedly, the house was owned by an individual named Azhar, a resident of the locality. The house was in a dilapidated condition and was closed since a long time. The incident occured after three days of incessant rains.
The incident has created an atmosphere of panic in the area. Locals claim that there are more such dilapidated houses in the area.
In the last 24 hours, 14.9 mm of rain was recorded in Uttar Pradesh. From June 1 to August 8, the state received 457.2 mm of rain, which is 10% more than the Meteorological Department's estimate of 416.4 mm.
