Mandi: The Mandi-Kullu Highway has been closed due to a landslide near Pandoh Dam on Friday. The region has been lashed by incessant rainfall since last night. Authorities have reached the spot after receiving the information.
Efforts have been launched to clear the highway as traffic movement was hampered due to the landslide. Heavy downpour led to the closure of around 290 roads in the state.

A total of roads remained blocked on Thursday, with Mandi district reporting the highest number at 171, according to the State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC), as reported by The Times of India.
Notably, the Seraj assembly constituency in Mandi reported the highest 70 road closures, followed by 35 in the Tahaloau assembly, 245 in Dharampur and 18 in KAsong, as per the TOI report.
Water level in rivers and streams has risen in the area, due to which authorities have reportedly opened floodgates of the Kol Dam.
Monsoon Fury In Himachal Pradesh:
Himachal Pradesh has reported a total of 95 rain-related deaths and 78 fatalities due to road accidents during the ongoing monsoon season, according to a cumulative loss report released by the State Disaster Management Authority of the state. The report covers the period from June 20 to July 31.
SEOC confirmed that the 95 deaths were attributed to various disasters during the monsoon season. In addition to these disaster-related fatalities, the state has recorded 78 deaths resulting from road accidents across various districts during the same monsoon period. The highest number of road accident deaths was reported in Mandi (14), Shimla (10), and Solan (10).
