Kolkata: Four accused in the Kolkata gangrape case on Friday were brought to South Calcutta Law College as police moved to reconstruct the crime scene.
Police on the wee hours had brought the four accused Monojit Mishra, Pramit Mukherjee and Zaib Ahmed, and security guard Pinaki Banerjee to reconstruct the crime that was committed on June 25.
According to the police sources, the reconstruction was done in the presence of a huge police team and it took almost four hours to complete the entire process.
“The reconstruction of the crime scene is a vital part of the investigation. We completed the task today. The four were first taken to the union room, then to the washroom and the guard's room of the college,” said a police officer.
The Detective Department conducted a 3D mapping of the entire institution during the day.

The guard was then produced before the sessions court and the police wanted the guard in their custody.
However, the court had granted permission to open the institution and had asked to keep the union room closed.
Meanwhile, following the order of Calcutta High Court almost all union rooms of the colleges were immediately closed with a few exceptions.
Those colleges which still kept their union room open said that they didn’t get any directives from the upper level.
