New Delhi: In his first ‘Mann Ki Baat’ address following the success of Operation Sindoor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reaffirmed India’s unflinching resolve to uproot terrorism from its soil and beyond.

Addressing the 122nd edition of his monthly radio programme on Sunday, May 25, Modi hailed the Indian Armed Forces for their “extraordinary precision” in striking terror hideouts across the border in response to the recent massacre in Pahalgam.

‘Operation Sindoor a Symbol of New India’s Resolve’

In his Sunday broadcast, PM Modi described the counter-terror strikes as a reflection of a “transforming India” with a firm stance against cross-border terrorism. “Today, the whole country is determined to eliminate terrorism,” he said, as quoted by All India Radio. He praised the Armed Forces for their discipline and bravery, stating that Operation Sindoor was not merely a military initiative, but a message to the world about India’s strategic clarity and moral fortitude.

The Prime Minister also mentioned a surge in patriotic fervour across the nation, with Tiranga Yatras held in various cities and emotional tributes pouring in. Viral videos from Chandigarh reportedly showed children painting patriotic scenes and parents naming their newborns after ‘Sindoor’.

PM’s Assurance to Pahalgam Victims’ Families

Reflecting on the 121st edition of ‘Mann Ki Baat’, aired shortly after the Pahalgam tragedy, Modi had vowed retribution. “The conspirators and perpetrators will face the toughest punishment,” he said, promising justice to the grieving families. He reiterated that the attack was a desperate act by enemies of progress seeking to destabilise Kashmir’s growing peace and tourism industry.

On 22 April, a brutal terror attack in Pahalgam claimed the lives of 26 tourists, marking one of the deadliest assaults in Jammu and Kashmir. In a retaliatory move, India launched airstrikes on 7 May, targeting nine terrorist facilities in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) under Operation Sindoor.
