Chandigarh: YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, who was arrested for allegedly spying for Pakistani agents, was sent to 14-day judicial custody by a Hisar court in Haryana, after her four-day police remand ended on Sunday.
The Hisar court had extended her police remand by four days after her initial five-day police remand ended on May 22, last.
Police said they have recovered over 12TB of digital data from her mobile phones and laptop which was being analysed by the forensic team. However, according to the media reports, the police probe so far indicated that several chats with at least four individuals suspected to be Pakistani Intelligence Operatives (PIOs) and money trails. Police has so far sent her three mobile phones and a laptop for a forensic test.

Police suspected that Jyoti, 33, was in direct contact with PIOs and had received special security clearance from the Pakistani government. She had visited Pakistan twice since 2023 and had also been to China, Bangladesh, besides a few other countries.
It may be recalled that Jyoti is one of the 12 people arrested earlier this month from Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, who were suspected to be linked to a spy ring with Pakistani agents.
Notably, the Haryana police had recently held that though they had yet not found any evidence that Jyoti had access to any defence information, she was in contact with some Pakistani Intelligence agents.

She was also in contact with Ehsan-ur-Rahim, aka, Danish, an employee at Pakistani High Commission, New Delhi, since 2023, who was expelled by the Indian government on May 13, last, for being involved in spying.
It may also be recalled that the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Military Intelligence have also questioned Jyoti after she was booked under various sections of Official Secrets Act and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
