New Delhi: A 40-year-old biker died after a Thar hit his motorbike in Delhi's Moti Bagh on Friday night. The deceased has been identified as Bikshu Lal. According to reports, Lal was standing on his bike along the roadside in the area when he was hit by the speeding SUV.
The driver of the white-coloured Thar fled from the scene after the incident. The police reached the spot after receiving information. The incident was caught on CCTV.
Lal suffered injuries to his chest. "He left home last night, telling his son that he would be back in 10 minutes... The whole night, his son was calling, and we were looking for his father. In the morning, we found out what had happened," Lal's brother, Nomi Lal, told news agency ANI.
“He was hit by a car so badly that his bike was completely destroyed, and he suffered injuries to his chest... We want appropriate action to be taken... My brother had five children, and he was the sole breadwinner in the family," he added.
Meanwhile, the deceased's sister demanded strict action against the driver of the SUV. "The policemen showed us a video and said that his bike was parked, and the Thar hit the bike with force. They said they would take immediate action and catch the driver soon... My brother has five young children living back in the village," she said.
A manhunt operation has been launched to nab the accused.
It is the second such incident in a week, where a Thar hits two pedestrians near 11 Murti.
