Hapur: An elderly woman had a narrow escape after an old building of a government school collapsed in Uttar Pradesh's Hapur on Monday evening. The incident was caught on CCTV installed in the area, and the video soon went viral on social media.
The visuals show an old lady walking on a street where the government school building was located. As she just crossed the building, it collapsed. Fortunately, at the time of the collapse, there were no students inside the building. The incident took place at around 5:55 pm on Monday, August 4.

After hearing the loud noise, locals came out of their houses and rushed to the spot. The incident took place in the Garghmukhteshwar area of the district. Authorities reached the spot after the incident.

There are no reports of any injuries in the incident. An operation to clear the debris of the collapsed building was launched.
Last month, a major accident was averted in Hapur when plaster from the lintel suddenly fell from the roof of a 5th-class classroom at a government primary school. The cement and debris came down while the class was in session, causing minor injuries to three students. The injured children were immediately taken to hospital for treatment and the classroom was evacuated.
