Raipur: Chhattisgarh has made significant strides in industrial development during the financial year 2025. According to a report by Project Today Survey, the state secured investments worth ₹1,63,749 crore across 218 new projects. It accounts for 3.71% of the total national investment, placing Chhattisgarh among the top ten investment destinations in India.

So far, the state has attracted total industrial investments of ₹4.4 lakh crore, including the previous year’s contributions. The progress is largely credited the introduction of the new industrial policy for 2024–30. Implemented on 1 November 2024, the policy emphasizes minimal bureaucracy and maximum benefits for investors.

It introduced services such as Single Window System 2.0, fast-track processing, and online applications. Sectors like pharmaceuticals, IT, AI, green hydrogen, semiconductors, and tourism have been given priority with attractive subsidies, tax exemptions, and incentives.

The policy offers subsidies ranging from 30% to 50%, tax waivers for up to 12 years, and interest benefits. For large employment-generating projects, it includes tailored policies and a training grant of up to ₹15,000 per employee, aiming to create 5 lakh new jobs over five years.

To boost interest among investors, special meets were organized in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. These efforts resulted in proposals worth ₹4.4 lakh crore. The Mumbai summit alone attracted investment offers of ₹6,000 crore, including foreign interest from American and Russian consulates. The energy sector gained notable attention during the Delhi and Bengaluru events, reflecting Chhattisgarh’s growing potential.

Over 300 reforms have been introduced in the past year to improve ease of doing business. These include simplified licensing, faster approvals, and time-bound subsidy disbursals within seven days. These changes have attracted both large industries and small enterprises.

For the first time, the state has received investment proposals in high-tech sectors like semiconductors, AI, and data centers. The foundation stone for a semiconductor plant has been laid in Nawa Raipur, which is being developed as an IT hub similar to Bengaluru and Hyderabad, in partnership with NASSCOM.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai stated that the new policy not only supports industrial growth but also focuses on job creation and long-term prosperity. The goal is to help build a developed India under the “Amritkal–Chhattisgarh Vision 2047.” With this, the state is transitioning from its past image and establishing itself as a rising industrial and technology hub in the country.
