Raipur: Bijapur Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mayank Gurjar has announced that a 1,200-page charge sheet has been filed against four individuals—contractor Suresh Chandrakar, Ritesh Chandrakar, Dinesh Chandrakar, and Mahendra Ramteke—in connection with the murder of journalist Mukesh Chandrakar.

According to the investigation, contractor Suresh Chandrakar was the mastermind behind the murder, which was linked to a dispute over the Nelsar-Miratur-Gangalur road construction project. He, along with his two brothers and supervisors, planned and executed the crime. In an attempt to mislead authorities, the accused allegedly disposed of the body in a septic tank and covered it with flooring.

The police acted swiftly, arresting all four accused within 72 hours of the incident. The forensic team conducted a detailed examination, collecting both physical and digital evidence. Advanced forensic and DNA analysis were carried out, and a list of 72 witnesses was included in the case. Investigators also recreated the crime scene based on witness statements and the interrogation of the accused.

On March 18, 2025, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) submitted a 1,241-page charge sheet, along with the case diary, to the Court. SIT In-Charge ASP Mayank Gurjar stated that the team has strongly advocated for the maximum possible punishment under various sections of the BNS.

The case, registered under Crime Number 01/2025 at Bijapur Police Station, includes charges under Sections 103(1), 238(a), 61(2)(a), 239, 249, and 3(5) of the BNS.
