Bareilly: Pet dogs are considered the guardians of the house and a pet dog in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly has proved this statement right. There was a stir in Ladpur Gautia village of the Hafiz ganj area on Sunday evening when a leopard entered a villager’s house, apparently with the intention of hunting a pet dog. However, the leopard fled when the brave dog barked and the villagers raised an alarm.
A video has since surfaced, showing the fearless dog scaring away the big cat by continuously barking. In the video, the dog and the leopard are seen face to face in the courtyard of the house, with the dog barking persistently until the leopard finally flees after family members rush to the scene. The dog ensured the leopard did not move an inch closer.
As soon as the information about the incident was received, a team from forest department rushed to the spot and started a search operation. The team searched the area with the help of a drone, but the leopard was not spotted. On the instructions of Chief Forest Conservator P. Singh, orders have been given to comb the area for 24 hours.
