In a major twist in the Bengaluru Rapido driver assault case, new CCTV footage of the incident has emerged, revealing a completely different version of events from the woman's initial claims.
The CCTV footage shows a woman physically assaulting a bike taxi rider after a brief argument. As bystanders gather to intervene, she persists in her attack, as captured in the CCTV footage.
Earlier, several media outlets had reported that the woman was assaulted by the Rapido rider after a viral video appeared to show him slapping her with such force that she fell to the ground.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Saturday when the woman, who works as a saleswoman at a jewellery shop in Jayanagar, was on her way to work.

The woman had alleged that the rider assaulted her after she objected to his rash driving. A PTI report stated that a heated argument broke out after she confronted him. She reportedly refused to pay the fare after getting off the bike mid-journey and also kept the helmet.
After police became aware of the incident, both the woman and the rider were taken to Jayanagar police station.
The woman told officers that the rider was driving recklessly and jumping traffic signals. She claimed that after she objected, an argument ensued, during which he slapped her.
However, she refused to file a formal complaint. Police subsequently registered a Non-Cognizable Report (NCR) in the matter.
