New Delhi: Union Minister Harsh Malhotra on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), accusing them of never practicing positive politics.

Malhotra's comments came in response to a meeting between Punjab MLAs, ministers, and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal after a crushing defeat of the party in the recently concluded Delhi Assembly polls.

"They have never done positive politics. The situation in Punjab is much worse than in Delhi. They (AAP) are looting the people of Punjab also,' he stated.

BJP is all set to form the government in Delhi after a gap of 27 years. This development comes after the party's impressive performance in the recent elections.

AAP Suffers Major Poll Setback

AAP suffered a massive setback in the Delhi elections and secured only 22 seats--a huge drop from its previous tally of 62 in 2020 polls, while the Congress failed to win a single seat for the third time in a row.

BJP won 48 seats in a historic mandate, returning to power in the national capital after 27 years, ending over 10 years rule of the Kejriwal government.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and AAP MLAs from the state met Kejriwal in the national capital on Tuesday.

After the meeting, Mann said that Kejriwal thanked the MLAs for their work in the Delhi elections.

Union Minister Ramdas Athawale also took dig at AAP convenor and said that defeat in the Delhi Assembly election was a huge shock to the Aam Aadmi Party, adding that Punjab will slip away from the AAP's hands.

Meanwhile, Congress MP Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa commented on Kejriwal's meeting with the party MLAs and said that calling a meeting shortly after the elections only showed that the party would break soon.

Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal also slammed Aam Aadmi Party alleging that "some people" consider Punjab as "their personnel ATM."
