A rash driving incident that resulted in the death of four people has come to light from the Randesan area of Gujarat's capital city Gandhinagar.
According to reports, a drunk Tata Safari driver hit pedestrians and vehicles, resulting in the death of 4 people including one woman, while many others were seriously injured.
The incident reportedly occurred around 10:15 am on Friday morning when a speeding SUV crashed into pedestrians along with other vehicles on the road leading from Bhajipura towards City Pulse Cinema.
The four people died after being hit by the speeding vehicle while others sustained serious injuries.
After being informed, the police arrived at the scene and launched an investigation into the case. After analysing the CCTV footage and recording the statements of eyewitnesses, police zeroed in on the accused driver.
The police found the car to be registered under Hitesh Vinubhai Patel. According to reports, the car owner was himself driving the car during the incident. He was later arrested.
The injured people were rushed to nearby hospitals, where their treatment is ongoing.
