Baghpat (Uttar Pradesh), June 16: In a shocking incident, a man was brutally thrashed by his in-laws in Uttar Pradesh's Baghpat. The incident was caught on camera and the video of the incident is doing rounds on social media. It can be seen in the video that the man is being brutally thrashed by his wife's brothers for questioning his wife about an unknown man who visited their house.
He was publicly beaten and left bloodied by his in-laws while his wife stood by without intervening. The incident reportedly occurred in Dola village which falls under the Singhawali Aheer Police Station area.
The victim has been identified as Rohit, son of Rampal, who works as a contract employee in the Electricity Department. Rohit alleges that on Saturday (June 14) night, he was brutally attacked by his wife’s brothers, reportedly at her behest as Rohit had questioned his wife about an unknown man who had visited their house.
The violence escalated to such an extent that Rohit’s uncle and sister-in-law, who tried to intervene, were also injured in the incident. Despite being severely wounded, Rohit managed to reach the local police station to file a complaint.
Police Statement
While the police have conducted a medical examination of the injured, no arrests have been made so far. The police have initiated an investigation into the matter and the accused will be arrested after the investigation is completed.
The police said, "In this regard, a case has been registered at Singhavali Ahir police station. Further legal action is being taken."
The viral video clearly shows Rohit being beaten while his wife watches passively. The incident has raised serious questions about her role and the broader issue of domestic violence against men. The topic often receives little public attention or legal support.
Local residents have expressed deep dissatisfaction with the police response. Many are questioning whether the lack of arrests despite visual evidence points to the accused being shielded.

“If a woman can have someone assaulted just for asking a question and police still take no action, what message does that send about law and order in our state?” asked one local resident.
