Surat: In an unusual incident, a 23-year-old tuition teacher fled with her 11-year-old student in broad daylight. Police nabbed the teacher and the 5th grade student from a moving bus in Raigad, four days after the incident. At present, both the teacher and the student have been brought back to Surat after a four day manhunt. According to the police, the teacher fled from Surat with the student on the afternoon of April 25.
By the time they were tracked by the police, they had travelled more than 390 km by bus. During the probe, the police found the teacher's mobile number was switched off at the railway station, which made it difficult to trace them. The teacher has been identified as Mansi.
No information about them was found in the CCTV footage of the railway station and bus stand, after which the police suspected that they might have fled by a private bus.
The turning point of the case was when the police traced a second, previously unknown mobile number, still active. Then Pune Police deployed a four-member team and around 4:00 a.m, officers intercepted a bus in Raigad and nabbed the teacher and student.

During police investigation it was reveled that the teacher and the student knew each other for the last three years. Their families also knew each other. The student was taking tuition from the teacher for the last three years. Earlier three students used to take tuition, but for the last one year only this student used to go to the teacher's house for studies, due to which both of them came close to each other and developed affaection for each other.
According to the police, the 23-year-old teacher was under pressure to get married. The student also had to face scolding from his family for studies which prompted the teacher to run away with the student.
